Per capita income of U’khand increases

The per capita income (PCI) of Uttarakhand has registered a healthy increase of Rs 15,662 this year as compared to the last year. The data released the Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), Department of Planning has put the PCI of the state at Rs 190284 ( advance estimates)  for the year 2018- 19  which is  higher than Rs 174622 ( provisional estimates) declared in the last financial year (2017- 18). 

The PCI of India for the year 2018 -19 was found to be Rs 125397  which was higher than Rs 112835  declared a year before. The economic growth rate of the state has increased too. In the year 2018-19, the economic growth rate is pegged at 7.03  percent which is higher than 6.82 percent registered last year.

State Income Estimate is of aggregate money value of goods and services produced within the geographical boundary of an economic region (nation, state, district), counted without duplication, during a specific period of time usually a year.

These are initially estimated for a Base Year (with respect to which growth or development is reflected) and subsequently declared for forthcoming years. 

The parameters used in its determination are Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at Constant Prices, GSDP at Current Prices, Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) at Constant Prices and NSDP at current prices.

The directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), Department of Planning is entrusted with the task of preparing the state estimates. The directorate has taken the year 2011-12 as the base year for releasing the data. These estimates are primarily based on the latest survey, studies and index developed and conducted by CSO in different sectors of the economy. The state government’s department data, budget document, departmental and non- departmental enterprise as well as private sector data is used for the estimation process.
