Petitioner objects to planned Bill on exemptions to Ex-CMs

Tuesday, 19 November 2019 | PNS | Nainital

Hearing on the petition challenging the ordinance brought to exempt ex-chief ministers from paying house rent and for other facilities, the high court has set November 25 as the next date. The State counsel informed the court that a bill to exempt ex-CMs from the said expenses could be tabled in the coming Assembly session. The petitioner’s counsel objected on the grounds that the case is sub judice. Hearing the arguments the HC bench of chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice Alok Kumar Verma set the next hearing on November 25.
