Piplani police nab criminal, recover worth Rs 50K drugs

Piplani police have nabbed a notorious criminal from Indrapuri and recovered drugs worth Rs 50,000 from his possession on Sunday.

Police said that acting on a tip-off regarding a man carrying drugs was nabbed at Indrapuri and when he was searched 5 kg of Cannabis was recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Mansoor Khan of Labour Colony Piplani and he failed to provide details of the drugs recovered from his possession.

Police said that the details of procurement and delivery of the drugs would be searched in the further investigation. After the initial investigation police have registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.

During the investigation police found that the accused is a habitual offender and is a watch list criminal of Piplani police The accused has been booked by Piplani, Govindpura, Aishbagh and Crime Branch police stations. He has been booked for 29 crimes in the past and had served externment in the past.

The source of the drugs which was carried in a white coloured gunny bag and their scheduled delivery to the customer in the city and nearby areas would be probed.

During the initial investigation it was found that the accused was scheduled to deliver the drugs in the city and was paid for the delivery of consignment. Police said that his local connections have to be searched and during the police remand further investigation would be conducted. The accused was nabbed while trying to sell drugs and was near a pan shop when he was arrested.
