PM Modi agrees to inaugurate Assembly building, port project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave his nod to inaugurate the newly constructed building of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly and launch the waterways development port project in Sahibganj on any day after September 15. Chief Minister Raghuar Das on Tuesday met the PM and requested him for the same, which the PM gave his assent. 

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s office in New Delhi on Tuesday the CM also apprised Modi of the development works going on in the State.

The CM said after the meeting, the PM increases one’s commitment towards one’s goals as he is the inspiration of one and all. Under his guidance, the government is working day and night to make Jharkhand affluent, he added.

Expressing gratitude to the PM for taking care of the needs of Jharkhand, Das said that the State was progressing fast under the PM’s leadership.

Earlier, the CM met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the latter’s office and discussed various issues including ongoing development works in the State.

Later in the day, Das met Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani and discussed ways and means to fight malnutrition in the State. It was decided that the State Government in collaboration with the Centre will launch an intensive drive against malnutrition from September 2019. The campaign will begin with the help of elected representatives of people. The decision was taken in the State Nutrition Mission meeting at Shashtri Bhawan in Delhi.

Irani said, on the occasion, that Jharkhand is progressing fast and talks of the State’s development are everywhere. She said that for making the State completely developed, malnutrition needs to be eradicated from Jharkhand and for this, a special drive will be launched in the month of September. 

Das said that in the campaign women, especially those belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be made aware of anaemia. During the meeting, considerable growth of the State in all parameters of women development, especially institutional delivery was lauded.  

Principal Secretary to CM, Sunil Kumar Barnwal, along with senior officials of State and Central Government, was present in the meeting.
