PM seeks peoples’ blessings to perform even better

Monday, 18 February 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought the blessings of the people in order to serve them even better in future. Citing the developmental works that have undertaken by the Center as well as in the Jharkhand Governments during their stints the Prime Minister stressed over stability at the decision making level and termed it a prerequisite.

Addressing a huge gathering at Hazaribag on Sunday, Modi said that all the developmental works could happen only because the people of Jharkhand voted a majority Government to power in the previous general elections.

“All the development that you see today was possible only because you voted for a government with absolute majority around four and a half years ago. I have left no stone unturned in working for the people. I have relentlessly worked days and nights for you all,” Modi said where he also inaugurated several developmental projected and welfare schemes at Gandhi Maidan.

This visit by Modi assumes significance as it is probably going to be his last Jharkhand trip ahead of the election seasons. Riding the Modi wave, the BJP had secured 12 of 14 Lok Sabha seats in the State in the 2014 polls– the highest by any political party since Jharkhand’s formation in 2000. Following the thumping win, the BJP went on securing majority of its own in the Assembly elections and formed a majority Government for the first time Jharkhand.

The PM on the occasion inaugurate three medical colleges worth Rs 885 crore, one each at Hazaribagh, Palamu and Dumka.

He also inaugurated a Women’s Engineering College located at Ramgarh. Besides, Modi launched irrigation and welfare schemes for farmers, handed over keys to PMAY beneficiaries and opened gift milk schemes for school children.

Later in the day, he interacted with beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme in Ranchi and took feedback on their experience.

He asked the patients to focus on three points to remain healthy and happy in life – quit addictions, maintain cleanliness and educate girl children.

“Three years ago, there were only three medical colleges in Jharkhand. And today, we are inaugurating three medical colleges in one day. This will not only ensure quality education for the aspiring doctors of the State but also provide health facilities to the locals,” Modi said.

Modi’s visit comes days after the Pulwama terror attack that killed over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawans in Jammu & Kashmir. He used the occasion to pay homage to Vijay Soreng of Gumla who sacrificed his life. “Vijay Soreng was from Gumla. I salute Martyr Vijay Soreng and I salute his family. Now when he sacrificed his life for the nation we must take care of his family and others of the Pulwama martyrs just like guardian,” he said.

The Prime Minister also recalled the Ayushman Bharat scheme, a health insurance scheme for the poor, which was launched from Jharkhand and has helped more than 57,000 people of the State in getting treatments.

Modi was all praise for Jharkhand’s women.

He said that Jharkhand has always been a trendsetter in woman empowerment and produced many successful women the country looks up to.

“Jharkhand’s own Captain Shikha Surbhi left everyone spellbound by her bike stunts at the Republic Day ceremony.

The women’s engineering college in Ramgarh will produce many more women like her,” he said, adding that the college in Ramgarh will be eastern India’s first all-women engineering institute.
