Saturday, 07 December 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Mahesh Poddar on Friday said that Jharkhand has made a quantum jump in many areas including education, governance and agricultural infrastructure.

Poddar citing the recently published report in the magazine India Today, said Jharkhand has topped as the best performing State in the field of education, which is a moment of pride for all.

Poddar addressing journalists said, “The report of India Today has been published on the basis of the study report of a reputed agency, in which the states of the country have been ranked based on the reforms done in various fields.”

In the context of getting a better place in education, Poddar said BJP leadership has continuously stressed in improvement in human resources, which is an asset and the Government has made an effort. The BJP leader said in last five years, the Government took several steps to improve education.

The BJP leader claimed that in governance too State has made steady progress. In governance Jharkhand has moved five steps i.e. from 15th to 10th  place. Poddar said prior to 2014, development work was being interrupted due to unstable Governments. “The political instability can be gauged from the fact that an independent was also made the Chief Minister. But, now we are going in the right direction.”

The BJP leader said that in providing a stable Government even the Opposition should pat us on our back. Another area in which Jharkhand has greatly improved is agriculture. Prime Minister Modi also wants to double the income of farmers in the next few years and we are standing with farmers from seed to market.

The BJP leader also talked about PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Mukhyamantri Krishi Ahirwad Yojana how they have brought positive changes in life of farmers. Poddar said performance of Jharkhand in the welfare scheme is also good.

“Under welfare schemes, Government has provided gas connection and electricity facilities were provided among the women, this made their life easier and they are contributing to the economy,” the Minister added.

The BJP leader also talked about progress in tourism sector and entrepreneurship. “There is another area where remarkable progress has been made in Jharkhand, so it is fish farming, in which we have become self-dependent. In response to a question, he said that in Jharkhand we will form the government on our own.” added Poddar.

The media briefing was also attended by Manoj Kumar, Ajay Rai, Usha Pandey, ST Morcha State Minister Anu Lakra among others.
