Police encourage Vikram drivers to follow traffic rules

Wednesday, 16 October 2019 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Taking cognisance of the repeated complaints received by the traffic department against the Vikrams stopping at multiple places illegally leading to traffic congestion in the city, Circle Officer (traffic) Rakesh Devli on Tuesday spoke with Vikram union members and encouraged them to abide by traffic rules.

He also warned them that if any Vikram driver is breaking the rules including parking in no-parking zones, challans will be issued to them according to the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act.

Whenever a vehicle stops at a place for whatever reasons a cumulative affect starts, which results in traffic congestion or traffic jam.

Many complaints are often received of Vikrams picking and dropping passengers at places which are not designated stops. District police also appealed the passengers to only sit in a Vikram at the designated place.
