Police launch two helplines to curb mob violence, noise pollution

To deal with incident related to “mob violence” and “Noise Pollution” quickly Delhi Police have launched two new 24x7 helpline number 155270 and 155271 in national Capital. These emergency helplines are being operated by Police Control Room.

According to Anil Mittal, Additional Public Relation Officer (APRO), Delhi Police the first helpline number 155270 is available for receiving calls related to any incident of  mob violence.

“Any person aggrieved or a witness can report any such incident to this 24 x 7 helpline number. This helpline number is introduced in compliance to the directions of Apex Court that a response system may be introduced to deal with such acts and to curb the instances of loss of life and public as well as private properties during incidents of mob violence,” said Mittal.

The second helpline number 155271 is launched to receive calls related to Noise Pollution in Delhi. So that public can lodge complaints of sound pollution like DJ’s, loudspeakers, public address system, sound amplifiers, generators of 5 KV or more, construction equipments like marble cutting machine operating between 10pm to 6am,” said Mittal.   “These help lines will remain operational 24x7 and swift action would be taken by Police Control Room (PCR) vans and local police on calls pertaining to Noise and mob violence,” said APRO.
