In a major breakthrough, Ranchi Police seized a huge cache of cough syrup (sedative) estimated worth of Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 Crore from Amrud Bazar Area of Sukhdeo Nagar Police Station in the State Capital on Wednesday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kotwali, Ajit Kumar Vimal informed that the Police raided a godown situated at Amrud Bagan area of Ratu Road under Sukhdeo Nagar Police Station in the State Capital on Wednesday at around 12 pm and seized huge cache of sedative cough syrup and detained two persons from the godown. “After investigation the Police found that the godown belongs to RK Enterprises owner Sanjay Gupta, resident of Piska More area of Sukhdeo Nagar Police Station in Ranchi. The Police also detained two persons Dipak Singh and Vimalendu Aggarwal from the spot to further investigation and the police also detained Kapileshwar Gupta father of Sanjay Gupta,” he added.
“Few days earlier the Police was suspecting that something suspicious is going on in the area. Police have recovered more than 100 cartons of the syrups from the godown. The Police assessing that the syrup’s price was between Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 Crore. A case has been register in connection with the issue,” said Vimal.
The Police team led by Dy SP, Kotwali, Vimal and accompanied by Director Drug Control Department, Ritu Sahay, Joint Director Drug Control Department Surendra Prasad were involved in the raid.
