Polling staff to receive first aid, essential drugs kits

Tuesday, 19 March 2019 | PNS | Jamshedpur

The district administration has decided to ensure safety of the polling staff in every possible way. East Singhbhum civil surgeon Dr Maheshwar Prasad has said that polling staff and security forces need not worry about vector borne diseases in remote areas during elections. He informed that first aid and essential drugs kits will be dispatched along with each of the polling parties at all the 175 cluster points.

“We will be getting additional stock of first aid kits and lifesaving drugs by this month which would be tagged with different clusters. We will also be deploying our medical teams at all the blocks so that they can reach any of the booth at the shortest possible time,” said Dr Prasad. The preventive malaria measures include spraying of larvicides, bleaching powders and fogging.

Incidentally, there are nearly 1,885 polling booths in as many as 1133 polling locations across the district which represents Jamshedpur Parliamentary constituency.
