The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday issued a notification for elections to four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats to be held in the first phase in Odisha on April 11.
While polls would be held for Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Brhamapur Parliamentary seats, the Assembly seats which would go to elections in the first phase are Nuapada, Khariar, Umerkote (ST), Jharigam (ST), Nabarangpur (ST), Dabugam (ST), Lanjigarh (ST), Junagarh, Dharmgarh, Bhawanipatna (SC), Narla, Chhatrapur (SC), Gopalpur, Brahampur, Digapahandi, Chikiti, Mohana (ST), Paralakhemundi, Gunupur (ST), Bissam Cuttack (ST), Rayagada (ST), Lakshmipur (ST), Kotpad (ST), Jeypore, Koraput (SC), Pottangi (ST), Malkangiri (ST) and Chitrakonda (ST). As per the notification, poll candidates can file nominations from Monday (April 18) till March 25. The verification process of the nomination papers would take place on March 26. The last date for nomination withdrawal is March 28.
