Chhattisgarh Home and Public Works Department minister Tamradhwaj Sahu on Sunday called upon the powerful Sahu community to assist children of poor families to continue their education.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest at the ‘Introductory Event of Marriageable Youth’ organized at Singhori Ward, in Bemetara district, the minister stated, the organization of Sahu community is one of the oldest and spread across the state. In present scenario, social evils within community should be eliminated.”
Sahu community members from Mungeli and Kawardha also participated in the function.
“The community has to shed its conservative thinking and the women organization should be further strengthened. Emphasis should be laid for educating the children from economically backward families for which a fund should be made,” he remarked.
Sharing the experience, he said “In Bhilai, such a fund has been made and an amount of Rs 50,000 has been given by him and in Bemetara also is ready to give Rs 50,000. Community should come forward to educate the girls as a recent incident of girl leaving education due to financial crises came in news.” The minister also released the souvenir of the event.
Making a call to youth, Sahu said, “Youth should get involved in small business and make progress.” The community officers-employees were urged to ensure the government schemes and programmes reach the community members.
