As part of the BJP’s plan to observe the birth week of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘Seva Saptah’ (service week) across the country, Union Minister Dharmendra Prdhan would launch the week in the State at Bharapur here on September 14.
Seva Samiti State coordinator and Deputy Leader of Opposition in Assembly Bishnu Sethi informed this at a Press meet here on Tuesday.
He said while Modi’s birthday is September 17, service week would be observed from September 14 to 20.
BJP workers and residents of Bharatpur would attend the inaugural event. Blood donation camps, free health and eye checkup camps and free distribution of medicines would be held through the week across the State. Fruits would be distributed among inmates in hospitals, orphanages and old-age homes, he said. A preparatory meeting was held at the party head office here. Sethi, assistance coordinator Mahesh Mohanty, swasthya seva chief Dr Kailash Biswal, State vice-president Nayan Mohanty, secrtary Dillip Mallick, Mahila Morcha president Prabhati Parida, former MP Bibhu Tarai and Shritam Das were present.
