The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Pritam Singh has requested the former chief minister and general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (PCC), Harish Rawat to camp in Pithoragarh till the end of the campaigning for the by election. In a letter to the senior Congress leader, Singh citing some family reason has said that he would be not available in Pithoragarh in last phase of the campaign. Incidentally Harish Rawat started campaign in support of Congress candidate Anju Lunthi on Monday.
The PCC president said that the Pithoragarh by election is very crucial for the party. It is pertinent to mention here that the PCC president has returned from campaign in Pithoragarh. He also took out a road show in support of Congress candidate there.
The deputy in charge of the state unit of Congress party Rajesh Dharmani is already camping in Pithoragarh.
The state in charge Anugrah Narayan Singh too would remain in Pithoragarh on November 22 and 23.
