Following complaint by prison guards, a probe has been ordered by the inspector general (prisons) on the recent party carried out in the Haridwar prison. Some prisoners had allegedly indulged in liquor drinking and non-vegetarian foods in a party to celebrate Holi festival.
District prison Roshnabad has often been in limelight on account of ‘perks’ enjoyed by some of the prisoners, be it usage of mobile phone or video making. In the year 2018, over 10 mobile phones were recovered from the prison. A prisoner had also made a video which went viral. Now recently a party organised by gang leader Sunil Rathi has increased the troubles of the prison officials.
Some jail guards had complained to IG PVK Prasad of some prisoners violating the prison rules and merrymaking in a party during Holi festival. It is learnt that prisoners had arranged liquor and non vegetarian food inside the prison.
