Procure 1.5 L CCTVs: CM to PWD

In line with the electoral promise of the Aam Aami Party (AAP) to install CCTV cameras across the city, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday directed Public Works Department (PWD) to procure 1.5 lakh more CCTV cameras. These cameras will be installed in residential areas across national Capital. Kejriwal also directed the PWD officials to submit a daily progress report on installation project. 

The Chief Minister Kejriwal issued directions to the PWD officiald during a review meeting on the ongoing installation of CCTV cameras in residential areas. The meeting was attended by the PWD Minister Satyender Jain and Chief Secretary Vijay Dev and all senior officers of the PWD.

 "Women safety is the top priority of our Government and we will leave no stone unturned in doing whatever we can to ensure that our sisters and mothers feel secure when they step out of their doors. CCTVs installation is an important step in this direction and let us speed it up," Kejriwal said.

 He also directed the department to speed up the ongoing work and increase the capacity so that by next week it is able to increase its installation capacity to atleast 1,000 cameras being installed daily.

 "Since the CCTVs installation work has begun across the city, the residents are coming forward with their suggestions on where to install cameras in their respective areas and how further improvements can be done," CM Keriwal said.       

Meanwhile in  a meeting with Health Minister Satyender Jain and all senior officials of the Health Department, reviewed the progress of the flagship Mohalla Clinics ongoing construction work.

Kejriwal told the department that the Mohalla Clinics have provided the much needed health relief to the residents of Delhi in their neighbourhood and the people rightly want more Mohalla Clinics in Delhi.

 He also reviewed the ongoing the construction work of Mohalla Clinics.

The Chief Minister reviewed the ongoing construction work of Mohalla Clinics and set specific deadlines when the new Clinics would be fully functional.
