Public Relations is an art which achieves perfection over a period of time with continuous practice. In today’s era, the scope of Public Relations has become very vast; however, there is a need to further improve it with new ideas and creativity, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Haryana, Sameer Pal Srow said on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering at PR Summit 2019 ‘On New Trends in PR’ organised by Public Relations Society of India Chandigarh Chapter, here, Srow said that for good public relations, one should have PR qualities including confidence so that PR professional could adjust to any new environment.
He said the lack of technology in the earlier time was one of the biggest challenges. The advent of telephone, fax, email and internet have revolutionized this field through which information can be communicated across the world within seconds and speedy communication has become an integral part of the public relations. However, this has posed new challenges to this field, he added.
Srow said technological advancement has great importance, but somehow this has led to lack of creativity which is an issue of concern. He said that technology should be used for better creativity.
On this occasion, Srow awarded the Best Person in Public Relation to Additional Director, Punjab Information and Public Relation Department, Senu Duggal.
Chairman, Public Relations Society of India Chandigarh Chapter, HS Grewal and Former Director, Himachal Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department, BD Sharma also spoke on this occasion.
