The SDJM Court here on Wednesday sent the six accused persons to the district jail for their alleged involvement in the triple murder near Patnaikia Chhak under the Satyabadi police limits on Sunday. Earlier in the day, police had produced them before the court, which rejected their bail pleas.
Notably, three members of a family, Purna Chandra Behera, Krushna Behera and Panchua Behera, were hacked to death with sharp weapons. An enmity had been prevailing between the deceased and the accused over a land dispute and the murder was a result of the enmity. The accused are relatives of the deceased.
Efforts are on to apprehend the others involved in the murder, Puri SP Uma Shankar Dash said.
