Quality standards key elements to forge trade linkages: MSME

VC Dubey, Deputy Director, Department of MSME, Government of Madhya Pradesh, while addressing the MSME representatives from all over Madhya Pradesh said “Quality standards, competitive pricing and timely delivery are the key elements to forge business linkages,” who had gathered for the Buyer Seller Meet organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

While welcoming the participants Animesh Jain, Chairman, CII Bhopal Zonal Council said that CII’s top priority is to help MSMEs in the region grow and expand their scope of businesses. Today’s Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) was one such endeavor aiming to bridge the gap between the large-scale companies, the tier 1 and tier 2 companies and the Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

He further added that, while many opportunities have opened up for MSMEs both nationally and internationally, they do not have any strategic tools for their market development as available with large industries. In the present competitive age, Marketing is one of the weakest areas wherein MSMEs face major problems. Hence CII has organised this Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) to strengthen the ties between the large and small companies, routing out the concept of buyers and suppliers and nurturing a new relationship of ‘partners’.

Pankaj Sharma, Deputy Chief Material Manager, Indian Railways there is annual procurement of Rs 50,000 crore and suggested that MSMEs should invest more in research and development and use the latest technology in order to achieve business excellence and world class standards.

Anchor industries such as Indian Railways, NTPC, Ordinance Factory Board, Liugong India, Eicher Tractors, Cummins India shared their purchase and procurement policies and product requirements which ranged from electrical & mechanical components to rubber items with the potential vendors, MSMEs. The presentations provided first hand vendor information to the MSMEs.

Harpreet Singh, MD, Super Screens shared that the one to one meeting organized with the representatives of these companies were found to be very beneficial and crucial for MSMEs to grow a     nd build linkages with large scale companies. Nitin Sharma, General Manager, KCS Engineering a participant at the meet from SME in Chandigarh shared that it is usually difficult to get an appointment and have a meeting with the Business heads of large corporates but it has been made possible to interact with these senior officials through this Buyer Seller Meet.

The Buyer Seller Meet was well attended by around 75 participants from all over Madhya Pradesh and more than 300 B2B meetings happened during the day.
