Even as rain was experienced in various parts of the State on Wednesday, the State meteorological centre has forecast light rainfall on Thursday too. The  meteorological centre has stated that light to moderate rain and thunderstorm are very likely to occur in the majority of places of the state today.

The provisional state capital is also likely to experience rain and thunderstorm activity today. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are likely to be about 27 degree Celsius and 15 degree Celsius respectively.

 Meanwhile the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places of the state on Wednesday were 25.1 degree Celsius and 17.4 degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.3 degree Celsius and 18.8 degree Celsius in Pantnagar, 10.6 degree Celsius in 7.4 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14 degree Celsius and 9.8 degree Celsius respectively in New Tehri.

The recent weather activity in Dehradun and elsewhere in the State has provided relief to the public from the rising level of mercury. The maximum temperature in the city has dropped about 12 degrees in a duration of four days.            

As per the State Meteorological Centre data the maximum temperature recorded in Dehradun on April 14 was 35 degree Celsius which rose to 37 degree Celsius on April 15. After rainfall activity in the city on April 16, the maximum temperature dropped to 25.4 degree Celsius and then to 25.1 degree Celsius recorded on April 17.

Similarly, other places in the state have also registered a marked drop in the maximum temperature during a period of four days.
