Chhattisgarh will host the 46th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition-2019 at B.T.I. Ground, Raipur from October 15 to 20.
It will be organized jointly by School education department and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
Principal secretary school education Gaurav Dwivedi chaired a meeting on preparation of the event at Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) state data centre.
Meeting was informed that around 200 models across the country will be exhibited having topic ‘Scientific Solutions for challenges of life.’ Sub-subjects will be agriculture and bio-farming, health and cleanliness, resources management, solid waste management, transport and communication and mathematical models.
Around 400 students and 200 teachers from across the country are expected to participate. From the state around 200 students and teachers will also participate.
Additional to exhibition on current affairs and other subjects, renowned scientists will give lecture and on final day all participants will tour prominent tourist spots of the state.
Dwivedi said selected children from all districts be called to participate for which a letter be written to all district education officers to organize science exhibition for class 9th to 12th students of government schools. Similarly, 50-60 students from private schools should also be selected. He directed officials to ensure cultural programmes based on Chhattisgarh's culture.
He directed officials to extend invitation to those 5 children having contributed for launch of 105 satellites and also ISRO scientists.
