A rally was flagged off by Housing and Urban Development Secretary G Mathivathanan and well-known actor Nikunj Chaudhury of the television serial Sindhuru-Bindu on the occasion of World Toilet Day on Monday. The rally participated by 200 women veered to Rajmahal Square and culminated at IDCOL Square.
This was one of the many events organised by Centre for Advocacy and Research supported by many partner organisations such as Sakah, Swabhiman, Helpage,Centre for Youth and Social Development and the Community Management Committee and Single Window Forum members from across 32 slums of Bhubaneswar
While marking the World Toilet Day, as many as 20 community champions representing transgenders, persons with disabilities, eight leading representatives of civil society organizations were felicitated by Minster of Housing and Urban Development Pratap Jena, Mission Director, SBM Sangramjit Nayak and Mathivathanan.
Minister Jena administered the pledge on ‘Toilet for All’.
