Ranchi MP slams JMM, assures BJP win

Sunday, 20 October 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth came down heavily on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Saturday, accusing the Soren family of amassing property through violation of tenancy laws and propagating dynastic politics in Jharkhand.

Seth, who defeated Congress veteran Subodh Kant Sahay by a huge margin in the General Elections earlier year, went all guns blazing against former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of scrapping a tribal language from the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) during his tenure as the CM. Seth also slammed JMM for making an independent candidate the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for political gains.

“What kind of development does JMM want? Do they want development for the State or only for the Soren family,” Seth said.

Seth said that in the 27 months of Soren’s tenure as the CM, he did not come up with any policy for women empowerment and instead scrapped the ongoing Ladli Laxmi Yojana, introduced by a former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government for welfare of girl children. “Our Government has consistently worked for empowerment of women. And we are still working on various policies for the same,” he said.

The MP also questioned Soren on the latter’s criticism of the revocation of Article 370 from the Constitution of India. “When the revocation of article 370 is giving their due rights to the tribal community, then why is Hemant Soren unhappy?” he asked.

Seth accused former JMM-led Government’s of encouraging Left Wing Extremism and instability in the State. He said that under JMM’s rule, the people of Jharkhand were fed up of frequent bandhs and lawlessness. “JMM Governments in the past have only created hurdles on the way of development. The people of Jharkhand want growth and prosperity. They do not want frequent strikes, lawlessness and surge in crime,” said Seth.

He reiterated that the BJP will easily achieve its target of winning at least 65 seats in the 81 member assembly in the upcoming elections here. He said that the people of Jharkhand will again bestow their trust upon the double engine Government and contribute towards holistic growth of the State.
