Ranchi police to upgrade security cover for traders

The Ranchi police has decided to upgrade security to businessmen in State Capital during ongoing festive season, after the Lalpur firing incident leading to critical injuries of two jewellery traders on Monday.

Two jewellery traders Rohit Khirwal and Rahul Khirwal undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital Delhi and RIMS were injured in firing incident by armed criminals who had entered jewellery shop ‘Gahna Ghar’ at Amravati Complex with intention to rob the shop.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anish Gupta said that the district police have increased deployment of police force in the city to prevent further criminal activities at the same time the police have also intensified patrolling to keep vigil on criminal activities.

 “We are monitoring round the clock and have speed up search drive of criminals in district,” said Gupta.Ranchi City Superintendent of Police (SP), Harilal Chouhan said that the police have constituted different Special Investigation Team (SIT) to nab the criminals. The SIT will also visit other States in search of criminals.

“All the teams have been asked to work in their own assigned duty. We are collecting the records of criminals who are out on bail and also monitoring their movements,” said Chouhan.

  The SP said that on the basis of CCTV footage the police have found some clue of the criminals. Very soon they will be identified, he added. 

Out of two injured brothers, Rahul Khirwar was sent to Delhi Appolo Hospital on Wednesday for further treatment as his condition was critical. A green corridor was built from RIMS to the airport. He was rushed to Ranchi Airport in just 20 minutes. Both the brothers were admitted at RIMS by neighbuoring shopkeepers after the incident.

Meanwhile, all jewel traders of the State Capital closed their shop for half day in protest against firing incident.

Gold Silver Traders Committee on Wednesday cautioned that if the criminals are not arrested within 48 hours then traders will call for Ranchi bandh.
