Ranchi to gain international recognition: Chief Secy

With the upcoming International Yoga Day, the city is in full mode to welcome Prime Minister. Chief Secretary DK Tiwary, expressed his sincere gratitude towards Central Government for choosing Ranchi as the venue for hosting the function. He said, “Ranchi will gain international recognition by hosting Yoga Day on 21 June”.

Journalists from international media organisations will be reaching to cover the event. With the global broadcasting of the programme, the entire city will be under scanner. It will lead to the little details and features of the city getting highlighted worldwide. This will also encourage tourism industries in State.

The Chief Secretary held a meeting on Friday with officials and heads of the concerned departments, organisations and institutions as part of Yoga Day programme.

He emphasised on cleanliness, timeliness and security while decoding on the code of conduct of this program. It was decided that bottles of water will not be distributed during the function.

To provide potable water in its place, earthen pots will be made available.

There are also plans for increasing the number of toilets. In addition to this, signposts at different places will be installed in order to guide participants in an efficient way.

Participants will be provided with snacks at the end of the program.

They will also be asked to take care of their belongings before leaving the program.

The entry time for the common people participating in the program will be from 3 am to 5 pm and for VIP entries it will be till 6 am.

The district administration was instructed to operate adequate buses on various routes around the city to ensure that people reach the Yoga ground on time.

With the possibility of monsoon showers looming in the city, the administration has decided on ways to tackle this situation too.

Participants will be provided with polythene bags for safeguarding their cellphones and shoes from getting wet in the rains. In addition to this, they will also be asked to stay at their places if in case of rains.

On the basis of previous experiences, participants are instructed to practice yoga in a continuous rhythm during the entire training programme.
