For the next few days- August 15 to August 18, Jharkhand is expected to have reduced rainfall activity. The new low pressure system which was forming over the Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas on August 12 is now gradually shifting towards the west thus the rainfall activity is expected to reduce across the State.
“The low pressure system has now shifted towards Chhattisgarh and will gradually continue to move towards the west. Because of this movement there will be reduced rainfall activity in the State,” said forecasting officer MET Observatory Centre Ranchi, SC Mandal,
According to the weather department, for August 15 and August 16 the forecast is of light to moderate rainfall in parts of northern Jharkhand. On August 17 and August 18 the prediction is of wide spread showers of light to moderate category at many places in the State.
“There is no warning of heavy rain showers across the State. However from August 16 to August 18, rainfall accompanied with thunder storms and lightning could occur at some places in Jharkhand,” added the official.
