A rider died after being run over by a truck in Chinyalisaur on Gangotri national highway. The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital by local villagers and police, but doctors there declared him brought dead.

Locals have alleged that even though local police reached the accident site on time, 108 ambulance service was late.

The deceased has been identified as 50 year old Suman Lal Nautiyal. The truck driver is absconding since the accident and the truck has been seized by the police. According to the information provided by the police, prima facie it appears that the motorbike rider was trying to overtake the truck and lost control of the motorbike, because of which the motorbike skidded in front of the front left tyre of the truck. Locals have alleged that instead of being transport to the hospital in a private vehicle if the victim was provided with timely medical assistance by 108 ambulance, his life could have been saved.
