Rashtriya Lok Dal will organise ‘Chintan Shivirs’ (camps) across the state to galvanise its leaders and workers. The party has asked the zonal chiefs appointed recently to organise these camps.
RLD state president Masood Ahmad said the ‘Chintan Shivirs’ were being organised to strengthen the party at booth level, speed up membership drive and spread the ideology of the party.
Ahmad said that the party leaders and workers had been asked to work for the victory of RLD candidate from Iglas Assembly seat in the bypoll to be held next month. He added that the party would announce its contestant in a couple of days.
Earlier, a meeting, chaired by Masood Ahmad, was held at RLD state head quarters in Lucknow on Wednesday. The RLD leader exhorted the party workers and leaders to enrol maximum number of people in the ongoing membership drive.
Ahmad also said that the RLD had always fought for the rights of the people of every class and section of society.
In the meeting, the newly-appointed zonal presidents were told about the challenges ahead in the present political scenario and were asked to work at the ground level to strengthen the party base in Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders including RLD state spokesman SN Trivedi and media incharge Javed.
