Rupee 1.05 Lakh cash, valuables stolen from IB official’s house

In a bizarre case of theft that took place at residence of an Intelligence Bureau official at Shree Tower of Kadru area under Argora Police Station in the heart of the State Capital thieves decamped with Rs 1.05 lakh cash, jewellery and valuables on Thursday.

Notably, the incident took place in the broad day light around 3 pm on Thursday, just a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the State Capital and his stay in the same locality.

The victim Vandan Lala, working as Management Trainee at Central Coalfield Limited, left her home for office at 10.45 am and returned home at 3.20 pm after attending a meeting. Lala informed that the thieves decamped with Rs 1.05 Lakh cash, two gold chains, three pieces of gold earring and three sets of silver jewellery.   

While narrating the incidence she said, “When we reached near door of my flat I met an uncle living in same apartment and started talking with him. In between when I tried to open the lock of the door then I saw that the lock was already opened and someone had entered the house.

When we asked who is inside, someone replied from inside the house that he is resident’s brother. He locked the door from inside after that we also closed the door from outside. In between we gathered more people living at the apartment and inform Argora Police Station.

 As soon as police reached the apartment and entered the house then the thieves had fled through balcony of neighboring flat.”

Officer In charge Argora Police Station, Asit Kumar said that as soon as the police got the information they reached the spot, but before reaching of police the thieves decamped with the stolen goods. The police registered a case and investigating the matter and hope that they will be nabbed very soon, he said.
