The U-17 Sahodaya Gold Cup Football tournament organised under the aegis of Sahodaya School Complex, Ranchi concluded here at DPS, Ranchi on Thursday. The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was State Election Commissioner NN Pandey.

As many as 22 schools from Sahodaya group participated in the tournament : Vikas Vidyalaya, Star International School,  Sarla Birla Public School, International Public School, Oxford Public School, St. Aloysius E.M School, St. Ann Convent School, Guru Govind Singh Public School, Lala Lajpat Rai School, DAV Dhurwa, DAV Nadraj Public School, Cambrian Public School, St. Michael School, Loyola Convent School, Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, Symbiosis Public School, Cambrian Public School, JVM Shyamali, Central Academy, Taurian World School, Oxbridge School and DPS Ranchi participated in the tournament.

The final match was played between DAV Nandraj School and DPS School and finally DAV Nandraj team won the match by marking 4 goals against 1 goal of DPS Ranchi. The Sahodaya Gold Cup 2019 was won by DAV Nandraj , with DPS Ranchi as the First Runner and Symbiosis Public School as 2nd Runner of the football tournament. The Best goalkeeper of the tournament  awarded to Rahul of DPS Ranchi.

The chief Guest was enthralled to see the captivating football matches. He encouraged the students to keep the vigour and enthusiasm. He said that Sports is an integral part of student’s life and also appreciated the Sahodaya group for taking up such initiatives.

Principal Ram Singh thanked the principals of the schools who sent their students to participate in the event. He appreciated the sportsmanship of all the students who participated. He congratulated the winning team and motivated the rest of the teams to keep the momentum. He said that Sahodaya group would keep on organizing events like these to motivate the students in future.
