Sand mafia raided, 10 excavators, 75 vehicles seized

On directives of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, mining and police department jointly cracked whip on illegal sand mining and seized 10 poclain (excavator) and 75 vehicles.

Based on the complaints from different Panchayats of state regarding illegal sand mining, overloading, using machines and violation of environmental laws, a drive against such illegal activities in sand mining was ordered in state.

As per details provided by mining department, under Arang police station of Raipur district, in Pargaon 3 excavators and three vehicles, at Kumhari two excavator and six vehicles, Ghadari and Barbaspur of Mahasamund district one excavator and four vehicles, Shivrinarayan of Janjgir-Champa district one excavator and three vehicles.

 Masturi of Bilaspur one excavator and three vehicle, Tulum of Rajnandgaon on each, Rakhi of Naya Raipur four vehicle, Mandir Hasaud four vehicle and Kasdol of Baloda Bazar where one excavator and 20 trucks along with other additional 13 vehicles were seized.
