Tuesday, 03 September 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that eradication of poverty in Santhal Pargana and giving new dimensions to development works in the region is the priority of Government. He, however, said that he has been able to achieve the goal to certain limits and therefore he wanted to know the problems and issues faced by the people in the region.

Holding a Jan Chaupal programme at Sundar Pahari in Godda district on Monday the CM said that it gave him pain to see poverty and lack of development in Santhal Pargana. “The first priority of the Central and State double engine government is to double the income of the farmers. The PM is playing an important role in penetrating the goals of Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana. So far, 18 lakh farmers have been benefited from it. Entry of the names of the missing farmers will be completed by September 10. Regarding this, the Deputy Commissioner of all the districts has directed to monitor it every day. As many as 35 lakh farmers of the State have to benefit from both the above schemes, so that farmers can gather the necessary resources for farming,” he said.

The CM said that work is being done to benefit the girls of Jharkhand under Sukanya scheme. “The Government is sending funds to their families' account at the time of birth, so that the financial problem does not become an obstacle for their studies.

Girls who have been 18 years of age and are unmarried, have passed 12th and after getting their names included in the voter list are being sent 10-10 thousand rupees to their account. Under Mukhyamantri Kanya Daan Yojana, Rs 30,000 are being given to married girls. In this way, the government is giving Rs 70,000 to a child from her birth to her marriage,” he added.

Das said during Jan Chaupal that malnutrition is a major problem in Jharkhand. Cooperation of all of you is necessary to make Jharkhand free of malnutrition.
