School student commits suicide

Depressed over failure in studies, a class 7 student committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at his Mayur Vihar Colony residence under Ashoka Garden police station area on Thursday.

According to the police, the deceased Vikas Jain was found hanging and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation.

In the initial investigation it was found that the deceased failed in clearing class 7 exams and was under immense pressure after the failure.

The incident took place on Thursday in the afternoon when family members failed to find him and found him hanging on the first floor of the house.

Mother of deceased died two years ago and result of deceased was given to his sister and brother at the school. The deceased failed in four subjects and was given another chance to clear it but he failed for the second time taking him into deep depression. 

Police have not found any suicide note which could help in revealing the reason behind the suicide.

The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded and the reason behind the suicide would be investigated.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.

Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man died of electrocution while working at a factory at Govindpura Industrial area under Ashoka Garden police station area on Thursday.

Police said that the deceased identified as Ram Singh got electrocuted and was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased used to work with GI factory. Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
