Secretary, women and child welfare department, Government of Chhattisgarh, Siddharth Komal Pardeshi inspected the Congress-led government’s flagship programme, ‘Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan’ (CM Nutrition Drive) at Bhanpuri and Sankara villages of Raipur district on Tuesday.
He inspected the anganbadi centre, ‘Mahatari jatan yojana’ and quality of ‘ready to eat’ foods. He found that in Bhanpuri sector, out of total 29 critically malnutrition affected children two have reached normal category while eight have reached in middle category. He directed to make the toilet with more facilities at Bhanpuri aganbadi centre.
As per data, in Raipur, 819 malnutrition affected critical children were identified out of which within a month 12 have been brought to normal category while 173 are still in middle category while remaining children have gained weight in the range of 300-500 grams.
Similarly, at village Sankara, mainly anemic and malnutrition affected children and women are being served fresh food. In the village 50 women have less than 10 gram hemoglobin count, falling under anemic condition.
The women appreciated the scheme terming it beneficial. Secretary also sat with them to share the food being served to the women.
Raipur district collector S Bharatidasan and Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat Gaurav Singh said at present in Raipur district the nutritional programme is being implemented in 397 panchayats, out of 408, since October 2, when it was launched. Health department survey conducted after a month has found that out of 8535 anemic women 2604 have recorded increase in hemoglobin level.
