Thursday, 17 October 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums (IINRG), Namkum onganised a seminar on ‘Climate Change and Biodiversity’ here on Wednesday. Dr Gopal Pathak, Vice Chancellor, Jharkhand Technical University, Namkum was the chief guest on the occasion.

Director, IINRG, Dr Keval Krishna Sharma welcomed the guests, scientists and participants from various organizations and informed them about the activities and achievements of the institute. “Instead of adapting to nature, we tend to change nature for us and due to this the rising temperatures across the globe have adversely affected the agriculture sector,” he said.

Addressing the gathering Pathak said, “Facilities have increased due to industrialisation and urbanisation but so have the problems. Government heads of various countries first met in 1974 to discuss climate change and also suggested steps to curb it. Strict policies are needed to prevent environment change.”
