Seven gamblers arrested, Rs 39,000 recovered

Crime branch police nabbed seven gamblers from Risaldar Colony Chola Mandir area who were gambling and recovered Rs  39,000 and betting receipts were recovered from their possession on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip off, seven miscreants were nabbed who were caught gambling at a house in Risaldar colony.

Several complaints were received by police and it was found that the complaints were true and later a team of crime branch conducted raid at the house and nabbed the gamblers.

The nabbed were identified as Pankaj Raikwar (22), Anas Khan (21), Babulal Suryavanshi (32), Shobharam Sahu (58), Vikram Singh (40), Raghuveer Kushwaha (55) of Chhola Mandir, Kamlesh Barmaiya (36) of Sukhisewania. 

Meanwhile under the ‘Operation Clean Sweep’ a total of 4584 cases have been registered and 4,706 persons have been booked in the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha elections; the action was taken from the period March 11, 2019 to March 19, 2019.

Under the ‘Operation Clean Sweep’ action was taken against goons, habitual criminals and anti-social elements under sections 107/ 116, 110, 151 of the CrPC and different sections of the Excise Act, Gambling Act, Arms Act, MV Act, Defacement of Property Act, pending Permanent Warrants and warrants.

In another arrangement by district police for celebrating the festival for Holi elaborate arrangements have been made in the state capital.

To keep check on hooligans from creating nuisance  135 mobile patrolling parties would remain deployed while 215 places would be made as checking points. Special attention would be paid in the sensitive areas.
