Several BSP leaders join BJP

Thursday, 03 October 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party got a shot in the arm when many prominent leaders of Bahujan Samaj Party, including a former legislator, joined the party with their supporters in the presence of BJP state chief Swatantra Dev Singh.
They claimed that only the BJP could take the country on the path of progress and development.
Among those who joined the BJP were former BSP legislator from Rampur Maniharan in Saharanpur district, Ravindra Kumar, former Saharanpur district chief of the BSP, Rishipal Gautam, and former BSP chief of Gangoh Assembly constituency unit in Saharanpur, Dharmendra Gautam.
The BSP leaders’ joining the BJP assumes importance as bypoll will be held in Gangoh Assembly constituency on October 23.
“The leaders who joined BJP today have risen from the grassroots level and their presence will help in strengthening the party at the village level,” Swatantra Dev Singh said.
