Sewa Bharati strives to reach needy people

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s social welfare wing, Sewa Bharati is working to enhance its acceptability among all sections of society at the same time is working silently for BJP in year-end Assembly elections. The organisation which has nearly 1200 self help groups under its veneer is creating awareness about works of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi at centre and Chief Minister Raghubar Das at State.

Maya Singh Sisodiya, the coordinator of Sewa Bharati (Bihar/Jharkhand) said, “The Sewa Bharati which is social wing of RSS has been working silently in direction of women empowerment. As part of various activities carried out by the organisation we have around 1200 self help groups. Each group has ten to fifteen women members. These women groups help in creating employability for women as members are engaged in manufacturing of papad, spices, pickles and other home eatables items.”  Sisodiya further said, “Apart from these, members of self help groups are also engaged in other activities such as providing free medical assistance, free education, and vocational training among others.”

Sewa Bharati a non-governmental organisation (NGO) working among the economically weaker sections of society which includes tribal and indigenous communities. Sewa Bharati which wa sset up by veteran social worker and then RSS Sarsanghachalak Balasaheb Deoras in 1979 works among urban slum dwellers and resettlement colonies by introducing welfare and social service programs.

Sisodiya further said, “In past few years both the centre and state has carried out several initiatives for women empowerment.

The Modi Government Ujjwala scheme which aims at providing gas connectivity has benefitted the women fold most. Similarly, schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padao are some of the schemes of centre in improving the economic and living condition of women.”

She also said that state government is also doing lot of works for women empowerment in state. “Registry of property at rate of Re 1 for women are some of the steps aimed at women empowerment,” she said.

Maya Singh Sisodiya who comes from political family has been associated with RSS since 1985. Sisodiya, who hails from Gazipur in Uttar Pradesh, and her grandfather were RSS active members. Her family association with RSScan be gauged from the fact that RSS ideologue and former leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Deendayal Upadhyaya, Rajendra Singh, popularly called Rajju Bhaiya, the fourth Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to visit Sisodiya’s parental house at Gazipur occasionally.

After her marriage she shifted to Jharkhand and since 1990 she was active in RSS and even with BJP. She is active with RSS and BJP since 2009 participating at various philanthropic activities working in various activities of RSS and BJP. She is also active with BJP activities especially of party’s women wings.
