With the arrest of 24 people, including six women, the Gurugram police on Sunday claimed to have busted a high-profile sex racket at sector-57 in Gurugram.
According to a senior police official, a prostitution racket operating out of a house in an upscale locality was busted by a joint team of Durga Rapid Action Force and Sector-56 police station on Saturday night.
“They have been booked under different sections of the Immoral Trafficking Act and a First Information Report (FIR) under appropriate sections have been registered against them at the Sector-56 police station,” said the senior police official.
Specific inputs were received about an illegal prostitution racket running in house number A-160 Sushant Lok at sector-57, police said.
The raid team led by Inspector Raj Bala reached the spot and arrested a total of 24 people who were soliciting sex. The men are aged between 25 and 30 years, while the women are around 22 to 28 years.
“The house was taken on rent by Rajiv Yadav of Mahendergarh. Gurpreet Singh who arranged the women and Harish another accused who used to arrange clients. While Bhoj Raj guards the house,” said Raj Bala Incharge Durga Rapid Action Force.
“At the time of the raid, the rooms in the house were occupied where women and men were found in objectionable position,” police said.
“Rajiv had taken the house on rent. We are investigating that when he took the house on rent and how much rent he paid. Rajiv and Harish are yet to be nabbed. Hunts are on to nab the culprits,” Raj Bala said.
“A case has been registered and a probe is underway. The arrested accused were sent to judicial custody for 14 days after being produced before a magistrate, said Subhash Boken spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
