Sharmistha resigns as spokesperson of Delhi Cong, wishes to fight LS polls

Friday, 15 February 2019 | SR | New Delhi

Expressing willingness to contest Lok Sabha elections, Delhi Congress spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee on Thursday resigned from her party post.

“My resignation is perfectly normal. A few months back also, there were such rumours. I just want to say, as I did last time, I would rather quit politics than resign from Congress,” Mukherjee said.

She currently holds the post of president of Delhi Mahila Congress.  “A new committee has taken over, so I have resigned to avoid any kind of overlapping of responsibility and work,” she said.
