The Congress on Tuesday said the way the BJP parliamentarians had taken up the cudgels for “corrupt official” Ganesh Shankar Mishra was “shameful and disappointing.”
In a press conference held at party’s state headquarters Rajiv Bhawan, Congress’s state general secretaries Shailesh Nitin Trivedi and Girish Devangan termed former commissioner of State Cooperative Election Commission, Ganesh Shankar Mishra a corrupt official and criticized BJP MPs from the state who had met Union minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Cooperatives, Narendra Singh Tomar to complaint against the state government for removing Mishra from the post.
The Congress leaders alleged that Mishra was a corrupt officer and was involved in Radius Water Scam in Durg district of the state. Citing complaints against the officer, the leader duo said the state’s Congress government in view his involvement in the scam removed him from the post.
Now, the BJP leaders were sheltering a corrupt official and it was more shameful that they approached a Union minister to intervene into the matter, they said.
