Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia president Shivpal Singh Yadav has appealed to the people of Mainpuri to vote for Mulayam Singh Yadav and ensure his victory by a record margin.
Addressing a meeting at Public Memorial School grounds in Safai, Shivpal said that people should vote for Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) as he had always fought for their rights.
Mulayam Singh Yadav is contesting election from Mainpuri on SP ticket and Shivpal has not fielded his party’s candidate against him.
Speaking about discrimination faced by old and grassroots leaders in Samajwadi Party, Shivpal said that he had never demanded any post.
“I have always respected my elders. Netaji has always been by my side and has stood by me,” he said.
The PSPL chief said: “I never wanted to form a new party but due to compelling circumstances, I was forced to do so. The new party is based on progressive socialist principles and every day we will work to make it stronger.”
Earlier in the day, Shivpal addressed several public meetings in Firozabad and spoke on local issues, assuring the people of his constituency that his party was always with them and would always work for their welfare.
Shivpal is contesting election from Firozabad.
“Our party will win at least 10 seats and without our support the government will not be formed at the Centre,” Shivpal declared.
