Shivraj lashes out at Govt in bypoll meet

Tuesday, 15 October 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Terming the State Government as a Government of false promises, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked the electorates not to believe in such promises.

While addressing an election meeting at Kalyanpura of Jhabua Assembly constituency, Chouhan said that Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Congress candidate Kantilal Bhuria would come and bring gifts like sarees and silver anklets, but do not believe them.

He told the voters to vote in favour of BJP candidate Bhanu Bhuria. "He is not alone, the whole BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are with him," he added. He promised that he would always come forth for the welfare of people of Jhabua constituency. "Never consider that 'Mama' is not chief minister of the State. Never consider that I am weak. Wherever, there is problem with the people, I reach there," he asserted.

He warned Chief Minister Kamal Nath, if people continue to face problems in the State, he would not allow the chief minister and his ministers on the roads. He stated that the crops of urad, maize and cotton have completely destroyed. There was flood in Mandsaur, but the chief minister did not reach there to meet the people, he said, adding, “However, Mama reached among the flood affected people. Had I been the chief minister, I would have reached at a number of places within no time.”

He claimed that after the elections, the Congress leaders including the chief minister donot visit any place and meet the people. He pledged that it was his responsibility to provide compensation of damaged crops to the farmers.
