Shubha Mudgal to perform at ‘Badal Raag 2019’

The legendary classical singer Shubha Mudgal will give her charismatic performance before the music lovers of the city. The Bhopalites will enjoy the event ‘Badal Raag 2019’ at Antrang Auditorium, Bharat Bhavan.

The event will begin from Saturday and will continue till Monday. Badal Raag is being organized under Anhad, the department for classical music at Bharat Bhavan. The three-day event will feature many renowned artists to present their talent before them.

The inaugural eve of Badal Raag will be adorned with the rhythms of Indian Classical singing by Shubha Mudgal. Shubha Mudgal is an Indian singer of Hindustani classical music. Her repertoire includes the genres of Khayal, Thumri and Dadra, as also popular Indian pop music. She has received several awards and accolades for her artistic accomplishments, including the Padma Shri, awarded in 2000.

On Sunday, performances by Amir Khan and Nathliya Raj and Asit Goswami and Amit Goswami will mark the second day of the event. On Monday, Riya Jha and Madhura Chattopadhya will perform Bharatnatyam and Sohini Debnath will perform Kathak to mark the closure of the event.

While talking about it, CAO of Bharat Bhavan Prem Shankar Shukla said, “We began commencing Badal Raag from the year 2003 and this is the 10th year of this event being staged at Bharat Bhavan. Till now various renowned classical artists from across the nation have performed before the bhopalites and people too enjoyed them playing in the city to the fullest.”

‘Badal Raag’ is a musical and dance show featuring classical and semi-classical singers on stage altogether. This kind of  show is being organised at Bharat Bhavan for the 17th time. Well renowned singers from different ‘gharanas’ of classical and semi-classical music and dancers will be there to present the show.
