Shunned by family, Meena Devi cared by GDMC staff

Monday, 18 November 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

On November 3, Meena Devi of Mussoorie was brought in an unconscious state at the GDMC hospital. Those who brought her to the hospital disappeared soon after admitting her in the hospital.

The neurologist of the hospital, Dr D P Tiwari, detected a clot in her brain which required brain surgery. Somehow, the hospital authorities managed to get the phone number of Meena Devi’s son but he flatly refused to take any responsibility of her mother. In such a scenario, the destitute fund came to the rescue of the poor Meena.

A surgery was performed on her for removal of clot. The woman has now recovered her consciousness and is recuperating now under the care of hospital staff.
