Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo on Tuesday continued the review of health department’s works at a private hotel in the state capital for the second consecutive day.
Arrangements in medical colleges and works of office of controller of food and drugs were reviewed by the minister on Tuesday.
The meeting on Monday reviewed project and its implementations on Universal Health Scheme. It was decided in the meeting to launch the scheme as a pilot project in five blocks of the state. For this one block each from all the five revenue divisions had been earmarked.
The blocks earmarked are Bakawand from Bastar, Patan from Durg, Bagbahra from Raipur, Kartala from Bilaspur and Lundra from Surguja division. Singhdeo specially reviewed the availability of man power, equipments and medicines in these blocks so that the scheme could be launched successfully.
Health Secretary Niharika Barik Singh, Priyanka Shukla, Health Director Shikha Rajput Tiwari, chief medical and health officers (CMHOs) and civil surgeons from all over the state were present in the two-day meeting that concluded on Tuesday.
