Entertainment industry will soon have benefits in the national Capital as DTTDC is in process of introducing 'Single Window Clearance Mechanism (SWCM)' for filmmakers following the path of Union Government.

While the step has been taken to promote tourism activities in Delhi, the promotion of Delhi as a film shooting destination may enhance the cinematic vision of film makers because Capital has popular spot, instance — Connaught Place , Central universities ( DU, JNU) and Qutub Minar, INA etc.

On Friday, in the ongoing Monsoon session AAP MLA Promila Tokas questioned government initiatives to promote Capital as tourism spot.

Why Delhi can become a popular hotspot for filmmakers and how this SWCM can help boost Delhi economy? She asked.

According to the answer submitted by Tourism Minister in assembly,  with SWCM, all legal formalities required to shoot films in Delhi can be performed by visiting only one government office.

"Several steps are being taken to introduce a smooth system for granting permission to film producers, to provide them consolidated information on instruction/guidelines issued by various departments of Delhi and Ministers of the government, and to make film shooting  hassle — free experience," the notification related to SWCM read. DTTDC has formulated also has formulated a Film Shooting Manual to facilitate the Film producers for shooting in Delhi.

Meanwhile independent films makers welcomed it and said Delhi has the contrast of India , from world class metro system, the chaos of old Delhi and the colonial serenity of Lutyen's Delhi," film makers may have cinematic advantages now without  wasting precious time in getting clearance."
