Raipur Rural MLA Satyanarayan Sharma-led General Suggestion Committee for sky-walk construction on Saturday inspected the construction site for an on-the- spot assessment of the total distance of the project from Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Hospital to Shastri Chowk.
The senior engineers briefed about the technical aspects of the construction in details to members of the committee.
Panel chairman Sharma chaired the second committee meeting at New Circuit House, capital city. Few of the experts made presentation on its utility and alternative use which was then taken up for extensive discussion and suggestions were sought.
Public representatives mainly, panel members Raipur city MLAs Kuldeep Juneja and Vikas Upadhayay, Raipur Mayor Pramod Dubey, architects, Raipur Collector Dr S Bharatidasan, RMC Commissioner Shiv Anant Tayal and others expressed their views.
Committee chairman Satyanarayan Sharma said that sky-walk construction related technical data be provided to all the members, so that more in-depth study can be conducted to find a solution.
The officials intimated the total cost of project is Rs 75 crores and till date around Rs 50 crore has been spent.
State government had constituted the 22-member general suggestion committee led by senior MLA Satyanarayan Sharma to look into the different aspects of sky-walk ,including its utility or alternative use. Similarly, under chief secretary Sunil Kujur another 25- member technical suggestion committee has been constituted.
