The Samajwadi Party on Monday replaced its previous candidate and fielded Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ram Charitra Nishad from Mirzapur Lok Sabha seat.
“Ram Charitra Nishad will be the party candidate from Mirzapur in place of Rajendra S Bind,” a Samajwadi Party release issued in Lucknow on Monday said.
Nishad, the sitting BJP MP from Machhlishahr constituency, joined the SP in the presence of party chief Akhilesh Yadav last week.
Mirzapur goes to polls in the last phase on May 19.
