The Vidhan Sabha speaker Prem Chand Agrawal chaired an all party meeting and the meeting of the business advisory committee ahead of the Budget Session of the Assembly set to start from Monday.
During the all-party meet, the State’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant said that constructive debate would be held in the House on issues pertaining to public interest. Issues that are pertinent for the State will be tabled in the House according to the proceedings rules,” he said.
The leader of opposition, Indira Hridayesh said that if issues concerning the welfare of the state are tabled in the House, the opposition will extend its cooperation. She further assured that full proceedings of the House would be facilitated.
The Vidhan Sabha Speaker Prem Chand Agrawal said that the previous Assembly session was conducted in an orderly manner due to the cooperation of the opposition. He said, “I am confident that this time too, the Assembly session will be held with full decorum.”
In the meeting of the business advisory committee, the business of the house from February 11 to 15 was discussed. The governor’s address will be held on February 11 while on February 12 and 13 it will be discussed in the House. The Budget for this financial year will be presented on February 15 while no proceedings will be held on February 14 in view of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar.
The Vidhan Sabha deputy speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan, Parliamentary Affairs minister Prakash Pant, leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh, MLAs Govind Singh Kunjwal and Pritam Singh were present in the business advisory committee meeting along with Vidhan Sabha secretary Jagdish Chandra and other officials concerned.
